Leland acquired AMM Fencing in May 2021 and has since served as the company’s General Manager and Owner. With a decade of experience working for such high-profile companies as Walmart, Facebook, and McKinsey, and three degrees in business and engineering from the University of Southern California, Leland holds the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure his customers’ approval, his employees’ growth, and his company’s success.
It was as Director of Operations for BuildZoom in 2015 that Leland felt the first spark of interest in running a construction business. There, he managed a team of 40 global employees dedicated to the company’s mission of matching quality contractors to available projects (think Airbnb meets Angie’s List). During his time at BuildZoom, he doubled the company’s revenue. But more than that, he saw first-hand that when homeowners invested in their properties, with first-rate contractors and first-rate products, they enjoyed both immediate enjoyment and long-term financial return.
While at BuildZoom, Leland was reminded of his boyhood home and the upside-down door handle that was installed there by a less-than-professional contractor (and still exists as such today!). The son and grandson of entrepreneurs, Leland knew that he could do better for his community. He knew that he could provide customers with “greatness” from the day they signed on until long after the crew left their property for the last time.
Leland is thrilled that he was able to take over the reins of the highly successful AMM Fencing in 2021 and looks forward to continuing to grow the company in the years to come. When he is not working (which isn’t often!), Leland loves to spend time with his fiancée, run (about 50 miles each week), and visit his family in Hawaii.
Pete brings his AMM Fencing customers more than three decades of professional experience. After some 18 years working behind a desk with AT&T as an Associate Director of Engineering, he decided to leave the cubicle behind. He joined AMM Fencing as a Senior Project Manager in 2020 following a three-year stint with another fence construction company.
These days, Pete enjoys the outdoor work of providing construction estimates, working with crews, and communicating with customers throughout the Tri-Valley area. He boasts of the “top notch” job that AMM offers its customers and feels an immense sense of accomplishment when his team – whom he deems both fun and professional – stands back and observes a finished job well done.
Pete attended junior college in San Diego. Born, raised, and still living in Danville, Pete spends his free time building off-road Jeeps, boating, and skiing.
Alan has been a Project Manager with AMM Fencing for four years and has been involved in the construction industry his entire life. The son of a carpenter, Alan has had his hands in construction planning, installation, and oversight since he was a teenager. Fences and arbors are his particular interests.
Today Alan spends his time as Senior Project Manager interacting with customers. First, he listens to the needs and wishes of homeowners. He then proposes a design, budget, and timetable for the project. A native Californian, Alan loves traveling to the towns across the state, especially to streets he’s never been before and takes great pride in the work he oversees. A lifelong lover of the outdoors and a natural “people person,” Alan’s disposition perfectly meshes with his role at AMM.
Before joining AMM Fencing, Alan worked for JB Fence and Deaton Carpentry. He grew up in San Leandro and attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. When Alan is not working, he enjoys playing music and hiking.
Andy has been a Project Manager with AMM Fencing for two years and has been involved in the construction industry her entire life.
